Wednesday 2 September and Thursday 3 September: make a note of these dates.
Florence and Pitti Immagine bring the Dolce&Gabbana Haute Sartoria and Haute Couture events to the city for the first time: a tribute to history and art, to the timeless elegance of the city and the mastery of its artisan workshops.
The creations of the two designers will parade together with those of a select group of artisans, chosen by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, visiting their workshops, which represent the excellence and know-how of the most authentic Florentine tradition, the spearhead of the Made in Italy that leads to artistic expression.
Among them many craftsmen of our family “Italia su misura”: Antica Occhialeria, Antico Setificio Fiorentino, Aprosio&Co, Argentiere Pagliai, AtelierGK Firenze, Bianco Bianchi, Bottega d’Arte Maselli, Castorina, Dimitri Villoresi, Fondazione Arte della Seta Lisio, Fratelli Piccini, Fratelli Traversari, Grevi, Moleria Locchi, Lorenzo Villoresi, Loretta Caponi, Mazzanti Piume, Nerdi orafi, Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, Paolo Penko, Pestelli Creazioni, Saskia Scarpe su Misura, Scarpelli Mosaici, Scuola del Cuoio, Stefano Bemer.
The human touch has always been an important value for Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Their ideas pass through the skillful hands of trusted master craftsmen who, with love, passion and dedication, give life to “Beauty”.
The Renaissance and Rebirth’, this is the title of the event, will begin on September 2 with a parade dedicated to men in Palazzo Vecchio, in the Salone del Cinquecento, the most important hall of the Palace decorated with frescoes by Vasari. Unique and extraordinary pieces that will be accompanied by accessories and objects made by artisan workshops. On the same date the exhibition of the collection of Alta Gioielleria in the cloister of Santa Maria Novella. The calendar of events will continue the following days in the wonderful Italian garden of Villa Bardini, with its Baroque staircase and its unique view of Florence, and will end at the Antinori Cellars.
The events – which will be streamed on the web platforms of Pitti Immagine and Dolce&Gabbana – are promoted by the Florence Center for Italian Fashion and Pitti Immagine in collaboration with the City of Florence.
“Dolce&Gabbana’s special event represents a strong message of positivity coming from the fashion system. It’s a sign that we’re back on track and that we’re ready to get going again,” comments Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine.
“An event, the first live one since the outbreak of the Covid emergency, which fills us with pride because it is a sign of the fashion world’s attention to the city’s restart after the pandemic and that our ‘Rinasce Firenze’ plan is meeting qualified and transversal interests,” comments the mayor of Florence Dario Nardella. “The Dolce&Gabbana project will also involve another of our excellences, that of craftsmanship, and will attract the interest of international investors towards our territory. In the year of the inevitable and painful postponement of Pitti Uomo is undoubtedly one of the first steps back to normality and further proof that Florence has always played a leading role in the panorama of creativity and culture worldwide”.
