The guide dedicated to 100 of the best craftsmen of Italy
It was presented Monday, December 14, 2015 in Milan, at the exclusive Mandarin Oriental Milan in via Andegari 9, Italia su misura, the guide dedicated to 100 highly select addresses of Italian craftsmanship, made by the publisher Gruppo Editoriale in cooperation with Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte and OmA Osservatorio dei Mestieri d’Arte, with the valuable support of the Maison Vacheron Constantin.
The presentation was accompanied by a meeting on Italian craft authoritatively led by Pier Luigi Vercesi, director of Sette – Corriere della Sera.
The debate was attended, along with Franco Cologni (president of the namesake foundation), Maria Pilar Lebole (Director of OmA), Marco Pagani (Brand Manager Vacheron Constantin Italy) and some major players in the world of communication: the well-known photographer and advertising Oliviero Toscani; the digital storyteller Felice Limosani and Maurizio di Robilant, president of the Fondazione Italia Patria della Bellezza.
The presentation took place in the heart of the fashion capital at the Mandarin Oriental hotel, which combines the elegance of Italian design and the art of Eastern hospitality. Located in four prestigious buildings of the eighteenth century, this elegant hotel offers the perfect combination of comfort, style and elegance.
Italia su misura is a wonderful journey to discover the very best of Italian, from north to south, including islands, through 100 highly select addresses that represent as best as Italian craftsmanship: from ceramics to jewelry and fabrics; by silver tailoring and accessories; from musical instruments to the cribs; from glass mosaic and wrought iron….
Through the lens of photographer Dario Garofalo, the guide has entered some of the best shops and workshops Italian, immortalizing the faces, the hands, the tools of the masters of art and thus revealing the great tradition that is handed down from generation to generation. An editorial initiative that aims to enhance and promote the art of knowing how to do the job that gives life to the creations unique and customized, symbol of excellence and know-how that make Italy one of the main reference points for the superior craftsmanship.
After the success of previous publications devoted to craftmen of Florence and Milan, and after the launch of the web site italia-sumisura.it, the guide Italia su misura is a new tribute to the world of Italian craftsmanship.
A guide in two languages (Italian and English), the format easy, valuable and searchable, thought to be also useful tool for cultural tourism and responsible. 440 pages for a total of over 800 new images, went on sale in major bookstores in Italy at the price of EUR 14.90.
The project has been made possible thanks to the generous support of Vacheron Constantin. The historic fine watchmaking Maison based in Geneva has always been attentive and sensitive to traditional artistic crafts and joins this initiative in the year of its 260th anniversary of uninterrupted activity.
Italia su misura is on sale on IBS, Amazon, Hoepli and in major bookstores, and is distributed at major hotel franchises.
