The modern voice of Neapolitan tailoring since 1932, when Gennaro Rubinacci, a figure of elegance in high society circles in Naples, started his workshop called London House. Those were the years when London was considered to be the capital of elegant menswear, but what was taking shape in the Rubinacci tailor’s shop was the quintessential Neapolitan style: light, empty shoulders with soft details, a jacket so impalpable and soft that it could be folded up as much as eight times. The exact opposite of the London ‘Savile Row’ style. Mariano, Gennaro’s son, took over the company’s reins when he was barely eighteen and kept pursuing his father’s vision of Neapolitan elegance across the world up to the ‘squaring of the circle’, with the opening of a flagship store in London. Today Luca, the third-generation member of the family, is the ambassador of a sophisticated, modern tailoring concept.
