The first evidence of an ‘apothecary’ in the new church of Santa Maria Novella built by Dominican friars dates back to 1542, but it was only in 1612 that the workshop opened its services to the public. Today the products are made using machines designed and built to fulfil the needs of the company while respecting tradition. Each product has a history, but the real emblem of the company is the Pot Pourri, now known throughout the world. Do not forget to visit the Garden of Santa Maria Novella, a 15,000-square-metre haven in the Castello hills where visitors can see the old traditions inherited from the Dominican friars.
