Leather manufacturing in Italy

In Florence, the historic leatherworking district since the 13th century is Santa Croce. Here, thanks to the commitment of the Gori family and the will of the Franciscans, the artisans of the Scuola del Cuoio work in a Renaissance and cosy environment, under the wise aegis of Tommaso Melani and Laura Gori. The bags that come out of this atelier are unique also for their privileged birth.

In the Tuscan capital, even the art of made-to-measure footwear has ancient origins and great fame. Unique and personalized shoes, created according to rules that are unlikely to be replaced by new fashionable intuitions.

In Milan, houses and courtyards hide workshops of wonders where the most refined creations are born, in the name of inspiration and good taste typically Meneghino. Accessories of every kind and footwear, created by passionate and skilful hands, sometimes using precious leathers that require a unique mastery.

Leather processing is a historical tradition also in Emilia Romagna and in particular in Modena, a city founded on water. Here already in the Middle Ages there were several tanneries right in the old town centre, where you can still find skilled craftsmen who create elegant accessories, with that timeless allure typical of handmade objects.tailor-made shoes, the real bespoke, in Bologna.

An art that requires numerous and delicate passages and that is not only high manual skills, but also taste and sensitivity, an essential skill to fully understand the needs and inclinations of each individual customer.

For those who are looking for shoes made to perfection, other important addresses are finally in Rome. Here we find famous shops, the usual destination of leading figures from both the world of politics and entertainment. Where every step is made entirely by hand, starting from the wooden shapes set on the personal measurements of the exclusive clientele.
