The exhibition dedicated to the Mater, the mother who gives birth to another creature, becomes the deepest symbol of existence. The works dedicated to the mother, a theme particularly dear to artist Venturino Venturi, are presented at the Museo degli Innocenti and the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo. Sculptures created from materials of great visual impact such as bronze, or stone, that show the essence of matter releasing a sculptural energy that becomes vital, such as Ventre of 1949, at the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, where motherhood is merely suggested, or the Maternità of 1950 displaying the fulfilled mystery of generation, up to the recurring theme of the embrace. The exhibition, included in the program of celebrations for the 600th anniversary of the Istituto degli Innocenti, will remain open to visitors until 5 May 2019.
