“Tutti gli ismi (All the isms)” by Armando Testa

  In Turin, in the Sala Chiablese of the Musei Reali (Royal Museums), this exhibition brings together a selection of about 100 works including projects, posters, videos, paintings and photographs and design objects created by Armando Testa between 1940 and 1990. It is a structured program that follows the evolution of art and design in those years so rife with changes in tastes and customs. It was then that advertising graphics became part of everyday life and a phenomenon of popular art. Characters like Caballero and Carmencita, caricatures evoking distant countries, Pippo the hippopotamus, clumsy but docile, an unusual blue color, advertised diapers for the evolved children of the 1960s, and Punt e Mes, a bitter vermouth, celebrated the ritual of the aperitif in the years of the economic boom. www.museireali.beniculturali.it
