Until 24 November, T Fondaco dei Tedeschi celebrates the creative genius of designer Piero Fornasetti, one of the great artistic talents of the 20th century. "La regola del sogno" (The Rule of Dreams) is a site-specific installation conceived for the 16th-century palace overlooking the Grand Canal; the works, large-scale reproductions of images and drawings from the Fornasetti Archive, are displayed from the fourth floor to the courtyard, up to the water door. An exhibition that becomes a dreamlike journey through Fornasetti’s symbolic figures: irreverent monkeys, female faces, fish, body details, suns and moons, birds, columns, palaces and hot air balloons. The installation interacts ironically with the past and pays homage to beauty: the historical beauty of his muse Lina Cavalieri, the beauty of the works of the great Venetian masters such as Giorgione and Titian which in the 16th century embellished the building’s façade.
An exhibition celebrating the prestigious milestone reached by the Murano glassworks Nason Moretti, which was started in 1923, is underway at the Murano Glass Museum.
