In its third edition, Open to Art, the International Ceramic Art and Design Award Competition, promoted and organized by Officine Saffi of Milan, aims to enhance and promote the use of ceramics in contemporary art and design. Registration will close on 21 September 2018. Ceramic must be the principal material for the realization of the works, but experimentations including other materials, provided they are used to a limited extent, will also be accepted. The works will be evaluated by an international jury according to certain basic requirements: technique, originality, design research for the art section, while for the design section, originality, functionality and reproducibility will be taken into account. Finalists’ works will be exhibited in a show to be held in March 2019, while the winning works, in addition to receiving money prizes, will become part of the Officine Saffi collection.
