Officina – Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella opens a new boutique in Florence at the Hotel Savoy

A novelty for Officina - Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, which has opened a new boutique in the Hotel Savoy (Rocco Forte Hotels) in Piazza della Repubblica in Florence. The creation of the Officina, considered one of the oldest pharmacies in the world, dates back to 1221, when Dominican monks arrived in Florence and built their convent just outside the city, and soon began to study and test the properties of medicinal herbs grown in the gardens adjacent to the convent. Synonymous with Italianity throughout the world, the Officina Profumo - Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella is distinguished by the processing of natural raw materials with artisanal methods still carried out today following the same original formulas. One of the most iconic, bestselling products available at the Savoy will be “The Queen’s Water,” a precious fragrance created for Caterina de' Medici in the early 16th century.
