Maschere e… Artigianìa dal mondo draws the attention of the public, in particular, of artisans from the Valle d’Aosta region, to the design and production of simple but representative objects, within and beyond regional borders. The masks on display, in fact, belong to local collectors, artisans from the Alps and national and international museums, and are showcased for the purpose of highlighting artisan know-how, as a value closely associated with peoples and human knowledge. Therefore, this exhibition is not related to the complex theme of disguise, but rather focuses on the masks of the world, exclusively from the “artisan manufacturing” point of view.
On May 27, 1923, the Salsomaggiore spa complex, designed by Ugo Giusti and decorated by Galileo Chini, whose 150th birth anniversary falls on this day, was inaugurated.
