Franco Cologni receives Certificate of Merit from the Costume & Fashion Academy

Last March 9, at the Milan headquarters of the Accademia Costume & Moda, a Roman institution of excellence for training in the field of fashion and costume, a ceremony was held to confer the Certificate of Merit to Franco Cologni for his tireless commitment to the enhancement of beauty and artistic crafts and for his great achievements in the dissemination of the culture of savoir-faire in Italy and around the world. Dottore in Lettere e Filosofia, Cavaliere del Lavoro, Cavaliere di Gran Croce della Repubblica italiana, Officier de la Légion d'Honneur, Commandeur de l'ordre des arts et des lettres, Chevalier de l'ordre national du mérite, Founder and President of the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte, Founder of the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship, Honorary President of Creative Academy and Richemont Italia, journalist and writer, Franco Cologni received this prestigious title from Andrea Lupo Zanzara, President, and Furio Francini, Managing Director in Accademia Costume & Moda. A panel entitled "Builders of Beauty: Arts, Crafts, Talents," moderated by Alberto Cavalli, was held at this special event, with speeches by Stefania Lazzaroni, Director General of the Altagamma Foundation; Ermete Realacci, President of the Symbola Foundation; and Anna Zegna, President of the Zegna Foundation. "The history of the Academy from its founder Rosana Pistolese to the present, its very nature in promoting culture and savoir-faire, are akin to the masterful work that Franco Cologni has been able to accomplish," said Barbara Trebitsch, Director of Education in the Academy of Costume & Fashion. In thanking them, Franco Cologni finally wanted to address especially the young people, the talents of tomorrow: "Thank you very much for this Certificate of Merit. For me it is all the more precious because it comes not from a Ministry but from an Academy: a school, a place where you learn to do something beautiful."
