The charming city of Bolsena in the Lazio region will be hosting for the fifth year the 2017 Bolsena Biennale, from 21 to 24 September . Conceived and promoted by the Associazione Bolsena Ricama, the festival displays works by Italian and foreign lace schools which are part of a network specialized in the art of lace-making, an ancient Italian craft on the country's tentative list for the UNESCO Intangible World Heritage. The exhibitions will be scattered throughout the historic center of Bolsena. One of the venues will be Palazzo Monaldeschi, which houses the Museo del Merletto di Orvieto (the Orvieto Lace Museum).
