The exhibition, on view until March 10, 2022 at Palazzo Medici Riccardi, once the Medici residence that preserves the pictorial cycle, offers the opportunity for a reinterpretation of the pictorial work that combines the Gospel episode with the events linked to the conciliation between the Latin and Byzantine churches and celebrates the rising Florentine family. It depicts a very young Lorenzo on a white horse, his father Piero and his grandfather Cosimo, founder of the family. The fresco, closely observed with the help of multimedia supports, allows us to admire the refinement of the clothes of the various characters, the preciousness of the harnesses and the equestrian trappings, the fabrics and embroideries, but also the wooden decorations, the polychrome marbles of the floor that testify to the skill and mastery of Florentine craftsmen active in the first half of the 15th century. info@palazzomediciriccardi.it. photo © Provincia di Firenze / Antonio Quattrone
