An exhibition celebrating the prestigious milestone reached by the Murano glassworks Nason Moretti, which was started in 1923, is underway at the Murano Glass Museum. Since its inception, the furnace turned special attention to glass for the table, characterized by intense colors. Glassware, which became icons of 20th-century glass art, is presented, such as the served Francesca, from 1926, and a served, in black and coral red glass, inserted within a metal structure that gave it the imposing appearance of the Renaissance "triumph." The sophisticated object, consonant with the solidity of the 1900s style, had been made for Gabriele D'Annunzio's Vittoriale in 1930. The kiln stood out for its profound knowledge of traditional Murano techniques, sometimes subverted and freely interpreted, but also for its constant collaboration with architects and design that gave rise to innovative objects, presented at the Venice Biennials to wide critical and public acclaim.
