EventsFrom 11 September 2017 to 7 January 2018, Venice’s Le Stanze del Vetro exhibition center, located in the ex-Convitto on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, tells of the Muranese artist Vittorio Zecchin and his collaboration with the historic glassworks. An exhibition presenting the work of the artist from Murano who from 1921 to 1925 was artistic director of the glassware company then known as Cappellin Venini & C. From the Veronese vase which, inspired by the vase that appears in Paolo Veronese’s Annunciation, became the firm’s symbol and is still today one of its best-selling pieces, to the Libellula vase with its delicate blown-glass scroll handles, this exhibition aims to bring the art of glassmaking back to the heart of the international art scene debate.
