The Pinacoteca Civica di Como dedicates the exhibition Universo Parisi. Ico and Luisa's glass and ceramics to two artists who distinguished themselves in planning and design from the 1950s to the mid-1990s. Domenico (Ico), a pupil of Giuseppe Terragni in Palermo in the late 1930s, was able to combine his training as an architect with that of a creative designer, oriented towards the experimentation of different figurative languages. The meeting and close collaboration with his wife Luisa Aiani gave life to a cultural centre in Como, the Studio la Ruota, 1960-1995, a forge of creativity and fusion of tradition and invention. It was a veritable 'Universe' of the Parisi attentive to shapes, simple, geometric and essential, often ironic, designed in glass and ceramics and made by skilled craftsmen. The projects of the last decades marked a return to design and architectural installations, consistent with changing tastes, often also anticipating brilliant solutions.
