“The White Gold of Sesto Fiorentino”: eighteenth-century works from the Museo Ginori

08/10/2022 - 16/04/2023

The exhibition, set up in the premises of the Ernesto Ragionieri Library in Sesto Fiorentino by the Richard Ginori Archive Museum Foundation of the Doccia Factory, presents a selection of 45 works documenting the origins of the Ginori Factory. It is a preview of what will later be on view with the reopening of the Ginori Museum. The collection, adjacent to the factory and intended from its origin as a business museum, preserves more than 10,000 porcelain and majolica objects but also a vast collection of documents, drawings, sketches, sculptural models and photographs documenting three centuries of the factory's history. Presented among the various works in this precious anticipation are the porcelain bust of Carlo Ginori, founder of the Manufacture, small sculptures for dessert table settings and raw materials (Museo delle terre) and original masks, made of paper or leather, for "stamp" decorations.
