EventsThe third edition of the "Glass Week" will take place from 7 to 15 September. It brings together the major Venetian institutions linked to glass (City Council of Venice, Fondazione Musei Civici-Le Stanze del Vetro; Fondazone Giorgio Cini, Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, Consorzio Promovetro Murano). Prizes will be awarded to original projects specially designed for the event, and various exhibitions of contemporary artists will be set up. The exhibition dedicated to the artist and designer Tapio Wirkkala (1915-1985) and the photographic images by Matthias Schaller Leiermann, whose theme is the mirror, continue at the Murano Glass Museum. There is also a didactic aspect featured in a tour of the island of Murano entitled Alla ricerca della murrina perduta(In search of the lost murrina). In Mestre there is a space dedicated to buttons, in collaboration with the Museo Storico del Bottone "Sandro Partesotti" of Padua, which traces the changes in fashion of this accessory.
