Until August 1, 2021, you can visit the exhibition The Glass Ark. Animals in the Pierre Rosenberg Collection, a Parisian art historian who, over the years, appreciated the captivating pleasantness of those subjects, giving rise to a large collection of works of the Venetian twentieth century. The collector's sensitivity has captured the subtle and ironic charm of animals of various species: wild, domestic, exotic, farmyard, land or sea, which fascinate for the union between creative freedom and technical expertise. The silhouette is entrusted to the volume, solid or supple, to the physical characteristics, to the chromatic refinement, in an alternation between detail and essentiality. The result is a true image of the animal or a fantastic silhouette, but always consistent with the art of Venetian glassmaking and the style of the individual masters. The exhibition closes with some animals made by contemporary artists that confirm the timeless appeal of glass fauna.
