The Fondazione Cologni ceramics workshops at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum

On the occasion of the exhibition "White Gold. Three Centuries of Ginori Porcelain" (Oct. 25, 2023 - Feb. 19, 2024), Fondazione Cologni is organizing several workshops for adults dedicated to porcelain at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum in Milan. The first workshop, held by Elisabetta Bovina and Carlo Pastore of Elica Studio, was held on November 25, 2023. The two masters offered a general introduction on porcelain, followed by a demonstration of porcelain casting and porcelain painting techniques, for the participants to make small artifacts. Saturday, January 13, 2024 will be the turn of Milanese art master Anita Cerrato, who specializes in kintsugi on ceramics and porcelain. During the course, participants will get as close as possible to this ancient and complex Japanese technique between restoration and decoration. On Saturday, February 10, 2024, the Florence-based Studio Ceramico Giusti will offer at Poldi Pezzoli a unique experience of working with plastic porcelain in a bas-relief, which enthusiasts will be able to make: it is a small flowered tile, inspired by the flower carpets of Ai Weiwei, a well-known Chinese architect, designer and artist. Participants will then be able to pick up at the Museum a week after making, to allow for firing and drying, the works made. A time to get 'hands on' and produce beauty.
