The Wolfsoniana in Genoa, an institution that is part of the Nervi Civic Museum Complex, in agreement with the Dady Orsi Association, an Artist of the Twentieth Century, presents a selection of paintings on glass made by (Edoardo) Orsi. An artist, Genoese by birth (1917-2003), Venetian by training and Milanese by adoption, who tried his hand between 1960 and 1980 at the complex Renaissance technique of painting glass on the reverse (reverse paintings). Decisive in the choice of this technique was the suggestion offered by the variability of light on glass and the effects derived from the use of acrylic colors that change from bright, luminous hues to dense, opaque shades. Family portraits, still lifes and "dense domestic interiors," with furniture and everyday objects, are the subjects depicted by Dady Orsi, symbols of the inventive, ironic and poetic inventiveness of an artist constantly aimed at research and experimentation, creative and manual.
