RE-NAISSANCE. A dialogue between Renaissance painting, contemporary art and sacred icons, in Vinci

From the Fortino in Forte dei Marmi to the Leo-Lev exhibition center in Vinci, until July 25, 2021, the exhibition RE-NAISSANCE presents an all-Tuscan journey that evokes the Renaissance, understood in its deepest values and able to initiate a dialogue with contemporary art. An aura of sacredness invites reflection, through the presence of artifacts of the liturgical tradition, performed by artisans who make with ancient skill traditional works, but declined in modern expressions. The polychrome terracotta copy of the Announcing Angel of the Pieve di San Gennaro in Capannori, in Lucchesia, attributed to Leonardo, is the iconic emblem of the exhibition in the connection between Renaissance and rebirth and a warning to the continuity between past and present. The reproduction has been realized, with 3D scanning and the application of the original chromatic techniques, in the laboratories of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence.
