Raw Materials, Contemporary Ceramic Art

A project curated by Marco Tonelli, organized by Fondazione Montelupo ONLUS and supported by the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art of Prato, within the Cantiere Toscana Contemporanea event promoted by Regione Toscana. Palazzo Podestarile hosts a historical exhibition describing the legacy of Leoncillo and his relationship with sculptors Giuseppe Spagnulo, Luigi Mainolfi, Giacinto Cerone and Giuseppe Ducrot. The same venue will also host Project Room, curated by Lorenzo Cianchi, featuring works by young artists such as Christian Frosi and Diego Perrone, Irene Lupi, Nero/Alessandro Neretti and Morgane Tschiember. The Sculture in città section showcases the artwork by seven contemporary artists- Ugo La Pietra, Hidetoshi Nagasawa, Fabrizio Plessi, Gianni Asdrubali, Loris Cecchini, Bertozzi & Casoni and Lucio Perone- who were invited to work closely with local artisans to create a series of site specific ceramic projects.
