Paper Fashion. Works by Isabelle de Borchgrave

From October 20 to December 31, 2016, Villa Necchi Campiglio, in Milan, showcases thirty extraordinary garments entirely made  of paper by the talented Belgian artist Isabelle de Borchgrave. From Dior’s suits to colored Japanese kimonos, from evening gowns by Lanvin and Poiret to Chanel’s dresses, the villa houses the paper models of the outfits that have made the history of fashion and style between the late 1800s and the mid-1900s. In addition to the villa, visitors will be able to see the artist’s colorful workshop, which has been recreated in the exhibition space in the attic. On November 5 and 6, Villa Necchi will also host a trade fair showcasing the works by twenty paper artists-artisans. During the weekend and by reservation, visitors can take part in three special paper workshops held by famous master artisans: Sandro Tiberi, from Fabriano; Angela Florio, from Milan; Luisa Canovi, an origami expert from Milan.
