New display for the collections of Palazzo Davanzati in Florence

Palazzo Davanzati, a medieval tower house, was reopened to the public a few days ago, housing works and objects that testify to the customs of Florentine private life from the 14th to the end of the 16th century. The new display follows a chronological order to appreciate the furnishings of the state rooms and those reserved for daily life, such as the large kitchen. The current exhibition, maintaining the balance between historical dwelling and current museum principles, presents, after special restorations, works such as a weapon cabinet, the Armario, from the 15th century decorated with grotesque motifs, or the Guicciardini Blanket illustrating scenes from the novel Tristan and Isolde. A new room is entirely devoted to the lace and embroidery collection and includes about 2,000 pieces. Palazzo Davanzati, Florence Tel.+39 055 0649460
