For the 2017 edition of the Salone del Mobile, the twenty students of Creative Academy, the international school of design of the Richemont Group based in Milan, under the guidance of Alberto Nespoli and Domenico Rocca of Eligo will realize a collection inspired by wood, the natural material par excellence, and by its methods of processing where creative ability meets artisanal savoir-faire. The exhibition will be showcased in an exceptional location, the Poldi Pezzoli Museum, one of the city’s most prized cultural destinations. The project is promoted by Creative Academy in collaboration with the Cologni Foundation for the Métiers d’Art and the Poldi Pezzoli Museum, with the support of the prestigious Maison Van Cleef & Arpels, once again sustaining the young creative talents and the artisanal savoir-faire of master craftsmen. The 20 students enrolled in the exclusive Master of Arts in Design and Applied Arts, selected from the best international design schools, once again challenge themselves with a project for the Milanese Salone, combining creativity and craftsmanship. Guided by Alberto Nespoli and Domenico Rocca, the young designers will realize an original collection of wooden objects related to the theme of nature and crafted with two of the most ancient and noble woodworking techniques: marquetry and woodturning.
