The exhibition (Manlio Rho: the Sense of Color. Between textiles and art) has the precise aim of revealing an almost unedited aspect of the Italian abstract artist: his relationship with color and textile design. The exhibition, in fact, explores the practices of Manlio Rho in the field of textiles as a designer and color expert. The materials presented are all datable between the 1930s and 1950s, reconstructing the path of Rho’s career and the influences between the different arts. One hundred pieces testify as to how fabrics and colors interact perfectly, creating new and innovative solutions in the artistic field, as well as in fashion, such as the fabrics produced by the Filande e Tessiture Costa company, under the artistic direction of Manlio Rho, for great fashion designers such as Givenchy and Dior.
