The LOEWE Craft Prize, an international recognition promoted by the LOEWE Foundation to celebrate excellence in modern artistic craftsmanship, reaches its third edition. "Craft is the essence of LOEWE. That is where our modernity lies," says Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, inspired by the company’s beginnings as a craft cooperative in 1846. The areas of interest are those of the applied arts: from ceramics to bookbinding to metal, from leather to paper, wood and jewelry. The Prize for the winning entry is 50,000 euros. The works of the finalists will be included in the LOEWE Craft Prize 2019 exhibition to be held in Japan in 2019.
