With this project the Centre for Conservation and Restoration "La Venaria Reale", in collaboration with Fondazione Sviluppo e Crescita CRT, wants to preserve and make available a heritage of images of great historical, artistic and cultural interest. This heritage is part of the Archive of Pinin Brambilla Barcilon, one of the most important and well-known restorers of the 20th century. The over 50,000 photographs and documents in the archive bear witness to some of the most significant moments in the history of restoration in Italy, involving works and monuments famous throughout the world. These are unpublished material on the major masterpieces of Italian art and, after a careful evaluation of the state of conservation and particular relevance of the various materials, a nucleus of 3,000 copies has been selected: photographs, graphics, drawings, articles and slides documenting the various stages of restoration of Leonardo's Last Supper and other memorable interventions faced in over half a century of professional commitment. Thanks to crowdfunding it will be possible to digitize these testimonies and thus save a fragment of art history unknown to most people.
