Galileo Chini. Opere nelle collezioni pubbliche e private di Montecatini Terme

15/07/2023 - 07/01/2024

In this year, the artist and the Manifattura Fornaci di San Lorenzo, in Borgo San Lorenzo, Mugello, are the protagonists of initiatives that follow one another to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Galileo Chini's birth and the variety of his work among painting, ceramics, stained glass and architectural decorations that express, although with different materials, homogeneous characters and decorative affinities. The Municipality of Montecatini Terme, which preserves many of Galileo's works, from the decoration of the Tamerici and Tettuccio spas, to the stained glass windows of the Grand Hotel & La Pace, the Villa Agatina, and the paintings and stained glass windows of the Palazzo Comunale, is hosting the exhibition Galileo Chini. Works in the Public and Private Collections of Montecatini Terme, in the MO.C.A. Civic Gallery, an exhibition space dedicated to contemporary art in the spaces that were once home to the post office, also embellished with stained glass windows that allude to the speed and modernity of communications. Works preserved in private collections in Montecatini are presented, confirming the bond between Galileo Chini and the spa town, which has continued over the years. MO.C.A.
