FontanaArte, from Milan to Venice

04/04/2022 - 31/07/2022

Until the end of July Le Stanze del Vetro, on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, are hosting the exhibition FontanaArte. House of Glass through the work of four artistic directors, Gio Ponti, Pietro Chiesa, Max Ingrand and Gae Aulenti, who, over more than 60 years, have left an indelible mark on glass furnishings. About eighty plate glasses illustrate the stylistic and formal evolution: from absolute adherence to the principles of rationalism to the decorative pleasantness of more recent years. The artistic principles of the individual designers, different in training and chronological span, are united by having made possible the union of technological research, industrial needs and craftsmanship. Glass has been confirmed as a material capable of a variety of, sometimes unthinkable, declinations. info@lestanzedelvetro.org, info@cini.it www.lestanzedelvetro.org, www.cini.it
