FITTILE. Italian Craftsmanship in Contemporary Ceramics

04/09/2021 - 31/10/2021

The Quadreria space at the Triennale Milano will host from September 4 to October 31, 2021 the exhibition "FITTILE. Italian Craftsmanship in Contemporary Ceramics", curated by Ugo La Pietra. The exhibition, after Mirabilia and Vitrea, is the third of the cycle "Mestieri d'Arte. Crafts Culture", born from the collaboration between Triennale Milano and Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte, a project dedicated to support and promote the excellence of craftsmanship in Italy. The exhibition is an opportunity to get to know the best artistic productions, the result of skilful craftsmanship, passion and creativity, through the works of some of the leading craftsmen and artists of the contemporary world of ceramic art. Conceptuality and spectacularity are the two parameters that we find in the objects on display, which refer to the main archetype of common use, but also with a strong symbolic charge: the vase. Through this object, the various authors communicate their cultural and poetic choices. Archaic tradition, new typologies, irony, reinvented matter, figurative forms, sign and writing, nature, transgression and new technologies, are the trends that unite the artists present in the exhibition, and this is how we can grasp the existence of an area that we define with the term Artistic Craftsmanship: "a discipline that looks carefully at the world of production, but without being directly involved in it; a discipline that deals with objects, often virtually referring to objects of use". www.fittilemilano.it
