DOMUS GRIMANI, The Doge’s Room and “Archinto” by Georg Baselitz

19/05/2021 - 27/11/2022

A new initiative, produced by Civita Tre Venezie and financed by Venetian Heritage and the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with Gagosian and Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte and sponsored by Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship, sanctions the virtuous network between public and private in the preservation and enhancement of the historical and artistic heritage of Venice. Next May 19th, in fact, will be opened to the public Domus Grimani, The Doge's Room - the refurbishment of one of the most spectacular and evocative rooms of the Palace, which will return to its Renaissance splendor - and the exhibition "Archinto" with the new works of the German artist Georg Baselitz, some of which were made specifically for the Palace. The intervention on the Doge's Hall, with the relocation of the Greek and Roman statuary part of the Grimani collection, is part of a strategy of enhancement and promotion of the Palace and its history, in continuity with the refurbishment of the Tribuna del Patriarca Giovanni Grimani, inaugurated in May 2019 with the exhibition Domus Grimani 1594-2019
