Conference on the applied arts at the Triennale

Twenty-five years after the historic conference held at the Triennale di Milano in February 1995, the Fondazione Cologni, thanks to the curatorship of Ugo La Pietra and Alberto Cavalli, promotes a new important event: a day of study intended to examine the disciplinary area concerned with the applied arts related to Italian artistic craftsmanship, that at an international level is defined as the area of the "decorative arts" or "crafts." An area that does not coincide with art, is distant from industrial design and cannot be assimilated to traditional artistic craftsmanship. The conference, entitled "Né arte né design," draws inspiration from the recent book "Fatto ad arte. Né arte né design" by Ugo La Pietra (Marsilio Editori), which will be given to all participants. The meeting will take place at the Salone d'Onore of the Triennale di Milano on Monday, 23 September, from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. Registration is required for the event; for more information: www.fondazionecologni.it.
