CARMI, the new museum dedicated to Michelangelo Buonarroti

CARMI is the name of the new museum dedicated to Michelangelo Buonarroti located in the spaces of Villa Fabbricotti in Carrara, a nineteenth-century building within the Padula Park, redeveloped thanks to a project funded by the Tuscany Region. Coordinated by the MetaMorfosi cultural association with the collaboration of Casa Buonarroti, and curated by Emanuele Ferretti of the University of Florence and Davide Turrini of the University of Ferrara, the aim of the museum is to enhance the bond between the artist, the city of Carrara and marble. The tour of the museum will include a space for temporary shows and two exhibits: I gessi dello studio Lazzerini. La storia di una collezione nella gipsoteca della scuola del marmo (The plaster casts of the Lazzerini studio. The story of a collection in the Gallery of plaster casts of the school of marble) and Carrara 1800-1850. Maestri Studenti in viaggio verso Roma. I tesori della Gipsoteca della Accademia di belle Arti di Carrara (Carrara 1800-1850. Master Students traveling to Rome. The treasures of the Gipsoteca of the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara).
