Arts & Crafts & Design at Palazzo Litta

18/04/2023 - 23/04/2023

On the occasion of Milan Design Week, fine craftsmanship and creativity return to enhance the monumental spaces of Palazzo Litta, home of the Regional Secretariat for Lombardy of the Ministry of Culture. Thanks to a partnership with the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte, Palazzo Litta is now one of the most important places where the culture of well-made meets the design approach, thanks to seminars, lectures, events and demonstrations open to the public. Here, Fondazione Cologni is reproposing the "Arts & Crafts & Design at Palazzo Litta" format: from April 18 to 23, it will be possible to admire on the piano nobile the works of "Doppia Firma," now in its seventh edition; presented by Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship, on a project of Fondazione Cologni developed with Living Corriere della Sera, "Doppia Firma" thanks to 24 successful creative partnerships investigates the theme of "Ludic," an invitation to always appreciate and seek the extraordinary freedom of being able to choose and create in order to rediscover the happiness of making. Among these extraordinary creative pairs, two binomials are part of the "Artijanus / Artijanas" project, developed under the curatorship of Triennale Milano. Four other exhibitions dedicated to the dialogue between savoir-faire and design thinking will enrich the prestigious spaces of Palazzo Litta: artist and master Gianluca Pacchioni puts his talent in relation to the spaces of the Richini courtyard, to propose Time, a site-specific sculpture on the theme of Time that enhances the chromaticisms of a magnificent stone; designer Sara Ricciardi signs La Grande Bellezza by Starhotels, in Sala Esedra: handcrafted manufactures and poetic design to crown the patronage project of high Italian craftsmanship promoted by Starhotels, with the collaboration of Fondazione Cologni, OMA-Osservatorio dei Mestieri d'Arte and Gruppo Editoriale; Bonacina 1889 presents, in the rooms adjacent to the gallery on the second floor, the new Francis Sultana x Bonacina collection, furnishing complements in woven natural fibers, created in collaboration with London designer and decorator Francis Sultana; Creative Academy, the international design school of the Richemont group, under the curatorship of Eligo Studio proposes Zodiac, a tribute to "constellations," thanks to the works born from the collaboration between the 20 students and Lodi-based master ceramist Tonino Negri, also on the second floor, thanks to the support of Van Cleef & Arpels. Palazzo Litta, Corso Magenta 24 Open to the public from Tuesday, April 18 to Sunday, April 23, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. www.doppiafirma.com
