The exhibition creates a magical conjunction between the works of Ara Strack, a well-known French artist, and Neapolitan glass and wood artisans, in the evocative 16th-century cloister and evidence of industrial archaeology of Santa Caterina a Formiello, in the center of Naples. The installation of the large stained-glass window, at the center of the cloister, but also the nine paintings that surround it, is consistent with the intent, initiated since 2012, by Made in Cloister to juxtapose local artisans with internationally renowned artists. The result is an innovative dialogue between craftsmanship, creative innovation and the setting in evocative city spaces, reclaimed from decay and transformed into communication spaces. Ara Starck's work expresses the deeper meaning of the stained glass window, which is constantly transformed: invested by natural light, it creates chromatic intensities and shadows, while the fading colors of the evening give rise to theatrical suggestions, in a poetic cyclicality.
