A ceramic fountain by Giuseppe Ducrot in Maremma

01/07/2023 - 30/10/2023

An imposing ceramic fountain, which recalls the shape of the ancient cattle troughs, is installed in Capalbio for the fifth edition of the Hypermaremma contemporary art festival. The work combines the artistic sensitivity of Giuseppe Ducrot, the technical expertise of the Gatti workshop in Faenza and the suggestive background of the Maremma countryside. The fountain stands out imposingly in the intense yellow colour, a color that distinguishes Ducrot's ceramics, to accentuate the luminosity and the contrasts between the solid architecture and the decorative elements which, together, become witnesses of the landscape and cultural characteristics of that territory which keeps the harsh and poetic disposition. The structure presents elements of architectural classicism that have changed over the centuries, to the point of assuming metaphysical traits, but blends with the natural environment in a succession of quotations or cross-references.
