The International Museum of Ceramic Design (MIDeC) in Laveno Mombello celebrates Gio Ponti's collaboration with the Richard-Ginori Manufacture in Doccia at the first Monza Biennial in 1923 with an exhibition with a captivating title. The event aroused the interest of critics and the public for the choice of unusual shapes and decorations typical of Gio Ponti's innovative style, projected towards art déco. There are 100 works from a private collection, some present at the Milan exhibition, such as the My Women series, others, unpublished or less known, and all offer a formal variety that still surprises for its freshness and charm. The exhibition offers the opportunity to get to know the Laveno Museum which preserves evidence of the production of the Italian Ceramic Society (SCI), which achieved great success in the 1920s under the artistic direction of Guido Andlovitz. A parallel path to that of Gio Ponti is highlighted, both engaged in the renewal of ceramics.
