If you are looking for traditional artisan products from Matera, then head to the Porta Pepice workshop belonging to Aldo Urgo and Marisa Saponaro, where you'll find pieces inspired by the tradition of Lucania, created with a touch of irony and a great deal of originality. The business was founded in 1996, initially producing primarily works in papier maché. Today it produces ceramics and pottery, all hand-painted with traditional craft techniques: plates to hang on the wall, tiles, whistles and other very beautiful and high quality objects. On request, customers can have items custom-made.
Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm, and from 5 pm to 8:30 pm. Open Monday afternoon
