Located just steps away from Volterra’s Etruscan gate is the workshop of Paolo Sabatini, a true master of the art of alabaster carving. Anything can be a source of inspiration for his creations, from a simple scrawl to a beautiful bronze statuette from the Etruscan Museum. Paolo Sabatini makes use of pieces of wood and bronze that blend with alabaster in the most unusual and yet harmonious way. His creations are born out of his marked sensitivity and accurate and personal stylistic research work and are on display also in Via Matteotti, in the heart of Volterra.
