EventsSixteen rare wax models have been donated by Marquis Lionardo Lorenzo Ginori to the Bargello Museum. After restoration, which has already begun on five specimens, the entire nucleus will be placed in a new room dedicated to Baroque sculpture and displayed in rotation. The waxes, which illustrate sacred and mythological subjects, are taken from forms made by famous sculptors such as Alessandro Algardi, Massimiliano Soldani Benzi, Vincenzo Foggini, and Giuseppe Piamontini. They had been acquired by Carlo Ginori, founder of the Doccia factory in 1737, to reproduce works in porcelain.
