The wonder behind every creative act, the amazement generated by the beauty of gesture and workmanship, the combination of applied arts and performing arts explain the concept and meaning of Prodigio. Mestieri d'Arte e Performance, the exhibition that puts the applied arts in dialogue with other forms of expression, combining the mastery of craftsmanship with the involvement of live and virtual performances. Prodigio. Mestieri d'Arte e Performance is the exhibition promoted and realized by Fondazione CR Firenze and its instrumental entity Associazione OMA - Osservatorio dei Mestieri d'Arte within the framework of MIDA 2022, the 86th edition of the International Handicrafts Trade Fair of Florence organized by Firenze Fiera and scheduled from April 23 to May 1, 2022 in the Sala delle Colonne of the Monumentale at the Fortezza da Basso. The exhibition, which will remain open and can be visited from 10 to 22 every day, sees the collaboration of Confartigianato Imprese Firenze and CNA Firenze Metropolitana and the patronage of the Municipality of Florence and the Region of Tuscany. With a view to promoting the transmission of skills between master and student and enhancing the contemporary production of traditional Florentine craftsmanship, the exhibition Prodigio. Mestieri d'Arte e Performance - a project by A(P) - Archivio Personale, concept and graphic design by Gruppo Editoriale - welcomes the visitor, transporting him or her, through live works in which the master craftsmen involved will participate and digital artistic performances, into the atmosphere of the place where the prodigy is born, the artisan's workshop, which, as a creative place, inspires relationships. The workshop and the performances inaugurate the exhibition of 18 Florentine artisan companies of the OMA network that present works in Ceramics - with the masters Luca Canavicchio, Sara Federici, Alberto Giampieri, Karin Putsch-Grassi, Paola Staccioli and Studio Giusti - Scagliola and semi-precious stones - with Berti A&P, Bianco Bianchi, Cecilia Falciai, Fratelli Traversari, La Nuova Musiva and Scarpelli Mosaici - and Intaglio, inlay and gilding, with Simone Beneforti, Bottega d'arte Maselli, Castorina, Fedeli Restauri, Renato Olivastri and Zouganista. To them the task of showing the visitor the tradition of workmanship and the inspiration of representative masterpieces presented in a soft and enveloping setting and combined with various artistic expressions: Ceramics connecting with contemporary dance and performance by Beatrice Ranieri, from the School of Ballet of Tuscany; Scagliola and semiprecious stones to the rhythm of the drums - by the talented composer Stefano Tamborrino - and Intaglios, inlays and gilding assimilated to movements with the ribbon in the performance by Camilla Pezzano, from Ginnastica Il Poggetto.
