When contemporary art meets the great masters of Murano glass-making the result is truly amazing. This is what has been happening since 1989 at Berengo Studio, started by Adriano Berengo who picked up the legacy of Peggy Guggenheim and Egidio Costantini and their Furnace of Angels and invites internationally-renowned artists to learn more about this age-old art, thus, broadening the approach and the ways of interpreting and transforming this material. And so, great names of contemporary art, such as Ai Weiwei, Tony Cragg and Erwin Wurm, work with the furnace’s master glassmakers. Together they create world-famous works, showcased at major museums and at the most prestigious international exhibitions.
