Vetreria Anfora

The Ferro family’s furnace has been devoted to the art of glass-making since the 1970s. Known for the production of classic-style artistic glass of the highest quality, the furnace soon made a name for itself on the national and international scene and specialized, later on, owing to its deep knowledge of traditional techniques, in the production of extraordinary replicas. In the 1980s, the company began collaborating with many artists and designers who still visit the furnace, where they are greeted by Master Andrea Zilio, an expert in the most complex glassmaking techniques, such as reticello, incalmo, zanfirico and sommerso, which he masters perfectly, above all to reveal the shapes hidden inside glass that he enjoys blowing by hand in order to establish the closest connection possible with this material, as tough as it is wonderful.

In the 1930s, he created wonderful bullicante and pulegoso glass vases and he specialized in the massello-style sculpture, and then, in the 1950s, he experimented […]

At the age of eighteen, he took over the management of the workshop, immediately putting his personal mark on the production, with hypnotic creations featuring smooth surfaces and cuts, convexity and […]

Scuola Bubacco

It is hard not to find him intent on creating one of his wonderful works of art at his workshop/museum in Murano. Today, just like in 1971, when he was barely fourteen years old and created his first works inspired mostly by classical art, Greek-Roman and Byzantine art, medieval and Renaissance theatre and Commedia dell’Arte.
