IN BIANCO: Italian porcelain on show in Jingdezhen

Italy at the first edition of the International Biennial of Ceramic Art of Jingdezhen, China

At the Ceramic Art Avenue Art Museum of Jingdezhen in China, until March 17, the first edition of the Biennial entitled “Spirit of Ceramics” is presented. The Italian pavilion, curated by Matteo Zauli, is entitled “In bianco” (In white) and has contemporary porcelain as its protagonist, in its chromatic essentiality, a symbol of that preciousness and essentiality that unites the two ceramic centers that are so distant. The works, about 30 artists present, trace two narrative paths that intertwine. On the one hand, there are works by ceramic sculptors or designer ceramists, who usually use porcelain and express the contemporary nature of Italian ceramics, together with those by artists who entrust their creations to artisans skilled in working with this material. On the other hand, other works illustrate a story that has as its fulcrum nature and the deep bond between man and the object that represents him.
