Between glass and wine: a Tuscan history from the Nannelli archives

The archives of the Nannelli family, active in the Empolese area from the beginning of the 18th century to the middle of the 20th century, document the family and work history of various generations dedicated to the production of glass for bottling wine. The events overlap between the improvement of the quality of wine, a productive resource already identified by the Medici family, the scientific research of the 18th century and the oenological experimentation of the second half of the 19th century. The study, retraced through documents, images, historical photos and objects, illustrates the deep link between glass and wine: responsible for a productive balance strongly connected with the Tuscan culture.
