The capable hands of maestro Eugenio Celestino opened the original artisan workshop in the town of Longobucco in the 1930s for the production, on traditional handlooms, of the finest fabrics that were used for coverlets, tapestries, carpets, doilies, household linens and trousseau. The quality of the textiles was such that the workshop became a supplier to the royal household and some of the leading fashion houses. In 1959, son Mario became the director and added the showroom in Camigliatello Silano. The quality and sophistication of the textiles has not changed because production is still done on the typical horizontal looms of Calabria that allow for execution of the hand-embroidery (laid or raised work) at the same time.
