EventsTalking about brothers Carlo and Giovanni Moretti means discovering the ductility and variability of glass, the innovations offered by design, experimentation, innovation, but also understanding, and often anticipating, trends in taste. The scenario is a synthesis between Murano, with its history, and the innovative ferment of Milanese culture of the early fifties, already anticipated in previous decades. The Moretti family proposed, since the 1970s, a formal and conceptual change in tableware, and in particular glasses, combining the most deeply rooted Murano tradition with formal, decorative and technical experimentation. It was initiated into a "modern" style for furnishing objects, distinguished by essential profiles and the use of bright colours or modulated in soft shades, with satin or two-tone effects, which enhanced the variability of the brightness of the glass. Those innovative objects were, and still are, capable of expressing the true nature of Venice: "solid and liquid, transparent and opaque".
